A key partner in the IP4OS project, EURICE has been actively promoting IP4OS and engaging stakeholders across Europe. Over the past few months, the EURICE team, along with Claire Fritz, Head of IP & Innovation, who also coordinates the European IP Helpdesk, has participated in a series of events to raise awareness about the project and its work at the intersection of Intellectual Property (IP) and Open Science (OS).
KoWi (14 January 2025)
Clair Fritz presented the IP4OS project to the KoWi Brussels, which marked an important early outreach opportunity to key intermediaries working in EU research policy and funding. The team discussed the strategic importance of IP and Open Science in EU projects, and there was strong interest in the project’s Synergy Framework and stakeholder engagement approach.
Cartier Women’s Initiative (6 March 2025)
During an IP training session hosted for participants of the Cartier Women’s Initiative, Claire gave a brief, impactful introduction to IP4OS. The audience - many of whom were involved in technology transfer or research entrepreneurship - expressed keen interest in the project. The event underscored the importance of integrating Open Science principles into entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystems.
IGLO info session (13 March 2025)
At the invitation of KoWi, the IP4OS project was presented to the IGLO Working Group "Implementation" in Brussels. The session focused on the project’s structure and key outcomes, with a special emphasis on the forthcoming stakeholder survey. Participants welcomed the initiative and offered to support the survey’s dissemination within their networks, highlighting the value of collaboration among EU-level research stakeholders.
BAK info Session (18 March 2025)
In a session with BAK - a working group of EU advisors at German higher education institutions - IP4OS was introduced as one of several initiatives. The present stakeholders represent an important part of the IP4OS community, and their role as multipliers within academia makes their involvement especially valuable. The session sparked interest in the project’s training components and further strengthened outreach within the German higher education sector.
Hannover Messe (1–2 April 2025)
EURICE took part in the Hannover Messe with an exhibition booth, using the occasion to connect with industry stakeholders, applied research institutions, and innovation professionals. Despite the absence of printed materials at this early stage, the team held productive one-on-one conversations with visitors and directed them to the IP4OS website for more information.
EIC Summit (2–3 April 2025)
At the European Innovation Council (EIC) Summit 2025, Claire Fritz represented the IP4OS project at the IP and Innovation Support Booth. The event provided a prime opportunity to introduce the project to policy stakeholders and explore potential synergies with related EU initiatives in the innovation landscape.
EU IP Helpdesk webinars (ongoing)
The IP4OS team continues to leverage EU IP Helpdesk webinars as a platform for visibility, especially when the topics align with IP management, Open Science, or knowledge transfer. These sessions offer a direct channel to engage with stakeholders from academia, research, and industry, keeping the conversation going and building momentum for future activities.
Through these diverse outreach activities, EURICE has laid a strong foundation and continues to build broader stakeholder engagement. As the Synergy Framework takes shape, IP4OS continues to gain traction across the European innovation and research landscape.
Stay tuned for event insights from the other IP4OS partners.
