Empower your research institution with advanced knowledge valorisation and dissemination

The IP4OS Horizon Europe project supports Europe's research landscape by fostering synergy between agile Intellectual Property (IP) management and Open Science (OS) practices. By joining our high-quality capacity-building programme, your research institution will be at the forefront of this transformative initiative, enhancing knowledge valorisation and dissemination and securing its place as a pioneer within the European Research Area (ERA).

We are looking for 27 research institutions geographically distributed across Europe to join the programme in the fall of 2025. These institutions will establish a multi-professional team to provide knowledge valorisation consultations (receiving effective guidance and resources from IP4OS throughout the pilot phase until 2026).

Why join the IP4OS programme?

  • Build Expertise: Establish and strengthen a multi-professional team within your institution composed of IP, OS, and knowledge valorisation experts. These teams will actively support your organisation's researchers and ensure optimal management of research outputs.
  • Boost Visibility: Gain recognition as a pioneer institution in Europe's capacity-building endeavour by being featured at the IP4OS Summit in Brussels 2026 (at the European Parliament, TBD).
  • Enhance Strategies: Leverage cutting-edge knowledge from the IP4OS project to ensure your institution stays ahead in enabling transdisciplinary and cross-sector knowledge circulation.
  • Contribute to Knowledge Base: The knowledge gained in the consultations will be used to create an EU-wide database (anonymised cases on the EU Valorisation Platform).

About the multi-professional team

Multi-professional teams integrate internal experts from various disciplines and working fields to support the research cycle within their institutions. They are instrumental in capturing different research outputs, identifying FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) assets, and determining appropriate IP strategies for impactful research knowledge valorisation. These teams ensure that research stays "as open as possible, as closed as necessary." Learn more about multi-professional teams, their composition and establishment in your institution here and on our website.

How to apply?

Interested institutions are invited to declare their interest by email (max. 500 words) to marie.alavi@email.uni-kiel.de by June 20th, 2025.

Please include the following details:

  • Identify candidates from your institution who could form or contribute to a multi-professional team (comprising expertise from IP, knowledge transfer, OS, publishing, data stewardship; see description here).
  • Reflect on the time capacity this team could make available for the programme in days per month.
  • Share why your university would make a strong pioneer in establishing this support structure.
